Bored

Why is it that when you really have to do something you do everything except that?
I really, really need to work on my article on the consumption of clothes in medieval Sweden and Norway. But do I do that? No, of course not. I check out AIPON, I check the two forums I belong to (one on history, mostly for re-enactors and one for wiccans), I get another cup of tea, I check my e-mail again...
It's like I have some mental blocking against actually doing something. I know what I have to do, I even have a broad disposition, but I can't begin.

I'm working late tonight, I'll stay until six (it's late for me since I'm on 50% sick leave), because a guy at work screwed up a fairly simple thing and I have to wait for him to come back with a paper I should sign. After that I'm going home to cut my red wool 12th century dress. At least that's my plan.
Oops, feeling sick, have to eat something FAST.
Bye

There must be a law against this!!

I just turned on the TV and saw something that can only be labeled as "musical offense" and should be banned for reasons of, I don't know, slander maybe.
There is this pop "singer" called Holly Valance, she had a hit with a cover of Tarkan's "kiss, kiss" two years ago. I put "singer" within quotation marks, because I seriously doubt she can actually sing. Her entire career is based on having extremely short skirt and a lot of shots up under said skirt in her videos. Well, her latest single was no exception in this, but what really pissed me doff that she was wearing a Ramones t-shirt (with the sides cut away, like a sideless surcoat). I'm not one of those elitist people who think that only "real punks", whatever that is, has the right to listen to punk music. But this woman has probably never heard the Ramones, and if she has she can't have liked it, then she wouldn't be doing cloned disco songs. The t-shirt is put there by some stylist trying to make her look cool and "dangerous". I think connecting this product (Holly Valance) with the Ramones is degrading to the Ramones, hence the "slander" suggestion.
