Sitting on somebody's head

I swear I'm sitting on a baby's head. There's this hard lump that I feel whenever I sit down. It wasn't like this with the twins because Valeria was lying a bit more sideways and she also only weighed 2 kilos when she was born while this one probably already weighs over 3 kilos. 4 weeks to go. Or 2, or 6. I don't think I will go two weeks over the expected time but one never knows.

I used to be a childbirth instructor. One odd bit of trivia I learned was that you could more or less predict the length of gestation based on the length of your monthly cycle. 28 days would give you a 40 week gestation. If your cycle normally runs shorter than that, you can guesstimate a shorter pregnancy (by as much as 2 weeks) and vice versa.

I run a 25 day cycle. My son was 5 days early. My daughter, otoh, started labor 2 1/2 weeks before her due date, but wouldn't emerge until her actual due date. She has been independent-minded ever since.

I'm a typical 28 days standard woman. based on my cycle and predicted day for ovulation the baby should come the 25th of April. At the ultrasound they proclaimed the baby to be four days younger based on their assessment of it's size. The thing is, this is a rather exact method if you measure the size of the baby in week 17, becuse they follow the same growth pattern up to then, but we didn't get an appointment for ultrasound until in week 19 so I don't know how exact it is. Now the baby isn't small however, it's in the larger range actually.
Well, we'll see, I wouldn't mind having the baby in three weeks instead of five or so.

Ah, this would explain why the women in my family carry almost 10 months. My sister was actually born at 9 months but covered in hair like a premie baby.
Joy, more confirmation that I will carry a long time (If we ever get around to having kids **#(*$&!!!) as my cycle has always been long if somewhat irregular. (Okay so lets see this month its a five weeks cycle and its lasts two weeks and then the next month its a three week cycle and last three days....jeese, I'm been going through menopause since I was 11..bleh)

I have come to the conclusion that babies adore having their heads sat on. It is the only thing that can explain why all 4 of them lodged their little feets (yeah I know that is bad grammar)and bums in the exact same lace in my rib cage and rammed their heads into my pelvic girdle. Little monsters. ;)
