This was back in 1987 when Raistlin was still "neutral" so I was in the red velvet robes.... He properly turned to the Evil side in the later books.

Not sure when they were *published* mind you, just that I had only read them relaively recently. I did his little speech from the beginning of the first book when all ther party met up in the Inn of the Last Home and they first saw him with the gold hair and white skin.
