A person I Iike

This is someone I like a lot; the professor at the department of Art history at Uppsala University, Jan von Bonsdorff.
He's fun and kind and reads fantasy and sf and has very broad and diverse interests. He's part of this project group which I went to Berlin with. I like all of them, they're bright, social, and funny, but they all seem to know each other from years and years; they probably do to, since they're all archaeologists. And I'm new, so it's easier to start talking to Jan and Carina Jacobsson, who's a doctor of Art History, also in Uppsala. I'm the only historian.
What Jan has is an enthusiasm that is very much like my own: he can be enthusiastic over modern architecture, medieval art of course, Douglas Adams, music, the alternative scene in Berlin or just anything. And he knows so much, walking with him makes you see much more than you would otherwise. He just makes me happy.

And he's just as married as I am, in case you wondered, and their youngest is the same age as my big girls, so there's another thing to talk about.

I know the phrase "platonic love" has turned into a cliché and almost lost it's original meaning. But it sounds like you have an affectionate, non-sexual relationship, which is the incarnation of platonic love, and I think it's a very good thing to have in one's life.

Well, if you meet another nice guy like that, who's not taken (not gay either, please), give him my contact details. ;-)

And it's always good to have great enthusiastic friends! I'm glad you met him.

It's always wonderful to meet people that you really connect with, and who make you happy. There are so many ways to be friends with people, and just as many ways to love them. That always amazes me.
