Totoro

My kids got "My neighbour Totoro" as a christmas gift from [livejournal.com profile] armillary. For different reasons the hadn't gotten around to watch it until today (the big girls had seen it before, at their dad's). When Vendela wanted to put it on Maja cried and cried because she wanted to see a "Maja-film" instead; she's very emotional right now, gets angry for nothing and cries both from anger and sadness, it will pass. But it didn't take many minutes before she got interested and as soon as it ended she sat in the sofa, singing and "dancing", asking us to put it on again.

My boys love that movie. Others of his films Maja may like - Kiki's Delivery Service and our personal favorite The Cat Returns.

Oh, that's a really nice film! I saw it a few years back on a DVD borrowed from a friend.

My 9year old daughter loves this movie. I managed to find a Totoro-themed bento box for her as a birthday present last year, and she thought that was grand, too. It's such a gentle story.

Mei is about the same age... perhaps she finds her a kindred spirit?

Well at least she thinks it's fun that the story is about a little girl.
