Buttons
A week or so ago I participated in a lottery in a swedish blog (all you had to do was to make a comment) and surprisingly I won. One could choose between vintage 1970s wallpaper, vintage plastic-covered tablecloth or a lot of buttons. Of course I chose the buttons and the owner then asked me what kind of colours and buttons I liked. I thought that I would win maybe thirty buttons of a few varieties, but I got maybe three hundred buttons and never less than 8 of any type, which means that at the very least they would be enough for buttons on a shirtwaist dress. Most of the buttons are from the 1960s-1980s, but some, which are made from glass are probably from the 1920s and 1930s - I will photograph those later.
Now I have photographed some of the other buttons and you can see them in my swedish blog, together with a lovely herringbone wool fabric that I got from my sister two years ago and which I plan to make a suit (with skirt of course) from, using the buttons at the bottom on the jacket.

Of course, the Swedish part of the Swedish blog escapes this stupid American. Sigh.
