Inspired by
jenthompsons and
koshka_the_cats summaries of all the great costumes that made in 2011 I went through my LJ archives. And realized that all I did was this 16th century dress for me, a new effigy corset and a new wool 16th century dress for Valeria (which was too large at St. Egon and then I took it in and by Autumn Crown she hade got back that weight and it was too small. ) With dead dad, new illness and depressed kids this is hardly surprising (not to mention three trips to England and one to Ireland, plus three conferences in Sweden) and I have made quite a lot fo everyday clothing in 1940s and 50s style.
I am currently slowly trudging along with my 1940s wool suit. It's not that it's lots of work , it's just that I haven't made a suit jacket before and it makes me anxious and unsure of how to do things. As an easier project to work on I started on the skirt yesterday and I think it will be very stylish.

Is it just me, or would that Italian dress look awesome with a rust or black fabric girdle like this?
