An antique, or at least old, lace collar

A couple of weeks ago I bought a lace collar on Tradera, a sort of swedish eBay. it arrived to day and I'm very happy with it. It is a little delicate and probably quite old, possibly from the beginning of the 20th century. "The beginning of" is a nice loose term here since I don't know when lace collars like this were in fashion, if ever. I took some pictures of it: Front, back and the whole collar. As you can see from the last picture it is shaped over the shoulder, that's why it won't lie flat. The original owner probably had more sloping shoulders than I have because it doesn't fit me perfectly. It is lined with silk crepe (did a burn test) but I can't find any loose threads to test the lace to see if it's silk or rayon, which certainly would help dating it.
Anyway, I paid c 8 $ + 3$ in shipping for it and my intention was to wear it with modern clothing so it doesn't really matter if it's antique or not. But it would be fun to know what kind of clothes it would have been worn with originally.
