Okay, so this checked dress it is. I don't know if I will start on it immediately or if I will make the Hedvig outfit first, but at least I have decided which one to do. Now I only have to overcome my fear of modern tailoring techniques, like how to make collars with lapels. herzeloyde says it's simple, but since like ten times better at sewing than I am I don't know if that's comforting. At least I know where to go for help.
I need to mail Jen too about getting a larger picture of the sketch of the back and to know what the description says. Since it's a summer dress I assume it's from either cotton or silk, but I'm thinking about using thin wool; tartan in burgundy and navy and plain navy. Because I have wool and very little silk or cotton.

Love the hat with it as well. For me, I think I would take the dress (and hat) to the right in the photo, with the loose jacket over.

I was just sitting and talking with Anders and I told him, I can't wait till I'm settled in London and can get a machine and start sewing again. I am going to finally have THE wardrobe that suits my body style and personality and a LOT of the daily clothes are going to be based on designs from the 1940s AND this pre-flapper era as well. I actually have a series of patterns "Vintage Vogue", where Vogue patterns reproduced patterns from their catalogues from the '20s, '30s and '40s, some incredibly smart suits.

Well, put it in your computer (if you have a DVD reader), take a couple of nice screenshots, and send them to me, and I'll make a nicer Hedvig icon for you than the one you've got! :)

It refuses to do screenshots, must be some kind of copy protection. I will ask armillary to look at it, since he's better with computers than me and Rickard.

Which DVD viewing program do you use? If it's Power DVD, there is a screen cap function, but it only copies to the clipboard, and you then have to paste the image into an image processing program like Photoshop or GIMP or Paint Shop or something in order to save it. If you use VLC there is also a screen cap function, but you may have to change a setting in your computer before it works. What's your Operative system?

I tried doing a screen cap and save it, but it's impossible. You can paste it in PaintShop, but when PowereDVD isn't running the picture is gone. I guess that's why you can't find a picture of Hedvig anwhere on the 'net.

OK: I PowerDVD:s kontrollpanel ska det finnas en liten ikon som ser ut som en hammare, Klicka på den. Du ska då få upp en ruta som heter "konfigurering". Välj fliken "Video". Är rutan "Aktivera hårdvaruaccelerering" ikryssad, så ta bort krysset och prova sedan att göra nya screenshots. Funkar det?

Ok, det fanns ingen sån ikon, men när man högerklickade dök "konfigurera" upp. Den var inte ikryssad under "video". Så gick jag till "spara" och testade nbbåde "spara till urklipp" och "spara som fil", men inget hände, några filer dök inte upp ngåonstans. Jag blir snart galen.

Skumt... Kan du spara skärmbilder från andra DVD-filmer? Eller är det bara Hedvig-filmerna som inte funkar?
