The joy of being married to a wargamer

I just love it. When a student claims that Alexander the great invented the hoplite phalanx and you vaguely remember that it wasn't so, you never have to look it up, you just ask your husband.
And when you don't know where a people in ancient history came from, or anything about them, he always does. He's good at geography too, so I can always ask him where places were/are.

You know what's horrible? When you have read so many Archaeological related books that you refer to the Tigris River area as Mesopotamia in regular conversation. Until it reached the point it was in the news all the time I wasn't ever able to remember the modern name. I am still trying to figure out medieval and renaissance geography. I am starting to get it down but all those silly duchys get confusing. ;P
