16th century Italian

I finally got to take some photos of my navy/forest green shot silk taffeta dress in the florentine style, now that it has trim and sleeves. I probably should have worn a partlet, but this was just a quick photo session to show you how it turned out and I couldn't be bothered.

Lifting the skirt to show the petticoat:

I'm not wearing a farthingale and I'm really happy that I can strike that from my Visby packing list. I do consider bringing a small bumroll to make the skirt (and other skirts) stand out more, but it really has a lot of body, it's my thick waist that makes it look otherwise.

Very pretty! I love the petticoat too :)

Thanks. I made the petticoat ten years ago and haven't used it for at least eight years and then I suddenly remembered it.

It turned out great. I like the trim a lot, but I can't see if it's white or silver on this laptop.

It was lucky you remembered the petticoat :)

It's silver.

That looks lovely - I can see you dancing in it and that skirt just swinging around all over the place. :-) Pretty, pretty princess!
