Progress on Vendela's clothing

I remade an old a-line tunic of hers, made from heavy wool, to a shorter overdress for her gothic fitted dress:

I won't be making a hat, since she's fifteen and will be wearing her hair hanging, all wavy from being braided, and just a small fillet or garland.

Oh, the Saxon dress is a bit like mine in the colours, so I like it a lot :)

I have a yellow bodice, and black and yellow skirt in theory. how wide is the skirt you made? I haven't decided on how big my skirt will be, we have a lot of fabric, but it doesn't really have a soft drape, since [livejournal.com profile] solbirger chose the fabric after colour and not material.

It's only 3 metres at the hem and cartridge pelated. The earlier versions of this style have gored skirts instead of gathered, I like those too.

Cartridge pleating is nice :)

I am making a gored skirt, narrower at the top. We are making fantasy costumes (Warhammer), but I am following a Reconstruction History-pattern for the dress. And I bought many yellow and black ostrich feathers :)

The green over black looks great! Yay for reusing! :-)

I know, Valeria had a gown like that too, which is now turned into a semi-fitted 16th century gown. There will be photos of that one too, eventually.

Thank you! They are very pretty my girls :)
I'm going to make a gown for Maja from the same velvet and damask and in a similar style too.

Yes, I think it will. She has inherited my mother's yellowish green eyes too, which will look very nice with that dress.
