Shoulder treatment

I can't decide what to do at the shoulders, or if I should do anything, on Valeria's new gown. There will be sleeves which are tied in. The sleeves have strips of black wool as decoration just like the bodice.
Suggestions?

I kinda like it the way it is. But then I've never been fond of too much ornsmentstion.:) I like simple and elegant.

Do you have an inspiration pic or a number of options that are appropriate for this? I like sleeves that are open along the bottom or have sleeve puffs with trim on, but I'm not sure if they go with what you're going for.

Btw, how do you sew on the guards? Do you make tubes, fold over edges or just leave edges the way they are?

It's heavy felted wool so I just sew them to the bodice with an overcast stitch.

I'm fond of shoulder rolls like [livejournal.com profile] operafantomet suggested, though I personally I like bigger ones. Looks good as-is too.
