13th century wall paintings
The interview went well, I think. Nobody knows how it will be when they have cut it but I don't think I made a fool of myself.
The 13th century wall paintings wasn't very clear, but huge!
Here are some pictures:
Mary
Mary, closer
A man (possibly Josef?)
There are more paintings under the white lime wash which was put there after the reformation. It would cost a lot to restore them though and it would also expose the paintings to air and light and other damaging stuff.

I'm all about protecting art - but if you never get the opportunity to see it and appreciate it, who are you protecting it for?

Who knew that was there? (Rhetorical question)
I'd better go see them in the flesh, or I'll feel irrationally ashamed forever.

(Anonymous) 2006-02-11 07:53 am (UTC)(link)OK, I'm rambling... Thanks for posting those pictures. I'm currently studying Medieval and Renaissance art, so it's interesting to see different depictions of the Virgin.
