A shower cap in gold and pearls

If everything worked out right (and why shouldn't it? says the optimist) you can now see pictures of yesterday's project; the golden, beaded shower cap-beret-german 16th century hairnet.
Today I haven't sewn anything worth mentioning, but if baby continues with his/her stubborn idea about staying inside me, I'm sure I will have to come up with something tomorrow.

Well done. It looks great - but your heading for this entry made me do a double-take. You might want to consider re-titling it to something like " a shower cap of gold" instead....

Yeah, I thought of that while I was resting, trying to figure out how I had phrased it.

Oooooh Sparkly!

I love this! Oh, you got the look so well!!! I'll have to redo the cap I made that turned out floppy with the layer of wool in there to give it more body.

Shiny!

How lovely, I want a shower cap like that next time I go swimming ;)

Wow!!! That's beautiful! I think I need one too! :-)

I KNOW I need one!! I looks infinitely better than the silly crocheted snoods that are all too common around here. 1) They don't hide my short hair, and 2) they're not historically accurate!!

*grin*

I was actually going to put fake hair in my fine gold haube:) It was really a test in whether the gold tissue could fake the cloth of gold in some of the paintings.

Bu I may go for a red felt lining....

I really like the red bonnet with it too:) It reminds me of a painting in one of my Great Artists magazines:)

I may scan it to show you:)

Of course if baby continues with the "will I won't I" it may be a while before you see it;)

I'm considering fake hair for my haube made from more period materials, wheenver that one is made, but wool worked so well so I don't know.
