NESAT day two

I'm finally back in Malmö and have eaten dinner. Today was the day of my presentation and it went well. You will probably all be able to see it, since some of the presentations will be downloadable to watch later and I signed a release form for that. There were many interesting presentations, my favourite was Marianne Vedeler's presentation of changing burial customs regarding dress in post-reformation Norway. There were other presentations about really interesting stuff too, especially the Pskov-find, but also a norwegian presentation about the pleated 12th and 13th century textiles found in Norway and west Sweden, this time about a particular find from Trondheim. Unfortunately the poor girl, who had just got her master's, was really nervous about presenting for over a hundred people in a foreign language. In the breaks I got the chance to talk with [livejournal.com profile] aure who I hadn't met before and in general had lots of chats with interesting people. Most of the free time was however spent chatting about the SCA (and textiles, duh) with [livejournal.com profile] bippimalin and Mistress Seelie from the West Kingdom. Here's a rather dark photo of us:

When I got "home" to Malmö I walked around a bit. It might have been a bad idea since my feet hurt a lot, but I got to see a few nice old houses; like this one from the 16th century.

I watched you live this morning from Philadelphia, PA in the USA! You did a wonderful job!

Thanks for the updates as well - it is a treat to get your insights.

I had a meeting with a german friend today in Copenhagen, Ann Dorothee Schlütter from Berlin and she loved your lecture today with the photographs of the reconstrukted costumes you had made.
So you are quite famous soon!

Oh, I have to find her among all the participants, if she's a friend of yours.

Sigh. I visited Malmö briefly in 2001.

Sounds like a particularly interesting conference this time, wish I could be there.
