Ouch and yawn

The royal library and I seem to be getting along alright. Except that it's extremely draining to sit for hours and type in stuff from 17th century documents, but I have to do that because I need them when I get home, it would have been different if I lived in Stockholm, then I could have just taken som notes and gotten back to them if I needed them. As it is I don't think I need all that text, but I'm not taking any chances. Since I have lots to do in a limited time and you have to sign a paper whenever you leave the room I really don't take any breaks either. But at least I get things done, my shoulders are, however, not happy for all that typing and for lugging the laptop to the library and back every day. My brain is very tired too, so that's why I just read all your posts and never comment.

Too bad they won't let you use a digital camera. My husband took pictures of the doucments he was studying at the Public Records Office outside of London, which meant that he could transcribe them at home when he needed them.

Does it help to take micro-breaks and do some relaxation exercises for your back and shoulders every now and then? I know it's hard to remember when you're deeply focussed on something, but for me at least, it makes a difference in the long run.

Is it not traditional that an *artiste* must sacrifice for their Art?
