Is that a CHESS BOARD on the side of her overfrock? Too awesome. Though it makes me wonder if the fabric is commemorating a special event and/or is more allegorical. I haven't seen anything like it in surviving pieces. But OMG I love it.
Also, is that a handkerchief attached to the waist? That green thing with gold tassels. Drapes nicely, but I can't quite figure out what it is.
