Now denverfabrics have joined the conspiracy to make me sew victorian clothes. Look at this lovely wool! I would look so pretty in it! I love it, I want it!
It's getting harder and harder to resist.

Other conspirators in this devious scheme are [livejournal.com profile] pinkdiamond, [livejournal.com profile] sarahbellem and [livejournal.com profile] jenthompson. You are true temptresses, but I will not succumb to your temptations!

and how long do you think you can persist?! ;)

viewing all victorian dreams floating by these past months, my mind is trying to make me pick up the needles where i dropped them 10 years ago.
sorting a few old boxes over the holidays i found my late 19th C and early 20th C costume research. also the booklets i made for Östergötlands länsmuseum 1996, documentation on a few 1920's dresses in their collection! things almost a bit embarrassing today...

Well, if you join "the victorians" I will not be able to resist it for long, because then we could have a tea-party for two and I wouldn't have the "I don't have anywhere to wear it"-excuse anymore. And i know Katarina wanted to make something from the 1860s in 1996 or so.

...i have this craving lust for something dark red velvety à la "augusta lundin"....

i don't think katarina is to hard to tempt either (or are you?)
and a tea party for three sounds like a grand day out!
there's probably a bunch of old 19th C countryside palaces around to visit?
and i do have those cotton velvet curtains in my cupboard that could easily be dyed.

oh dear, this does indeed sound like yet another corset might be on its way ;)
... oh, and i have all that silk taffeta too!

eva, your not good for my discipline!

Låt bli! Vi vanliga dödliga göteborgare skulle dö av avundsjuka om vi fick syn på dig i 1800-talskläder. Alla blir snygga i sådana - du skulle bli helt otrolig.

Maybe this (http://www.denverfabrics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=RAjk9993&Category_Code=clff&Product_Count=13) could tempt you then. If you don't mind it being rayon.

oh eva, that was almost evil! do you know how weak i am? that fabric might've be the last push over the borderline...

so, maybe it's time to dare a first international order over the internet? or maybe, a better idea, i'll ask kate to order it for me and have it wait for me in chicago... hm...

i'm bringing PoF with me in bed tonight i think. like, right now straight away! 'nightie dear!

Oooh you are evil!

I now have visions of that blinking wool and what can be done with it!

Luckily, not in my style;) Or else I'd be seriously displeased!

though.....

No!
