chairs and Cyprus
Oct. 27th, 2014 04:35 amI made armachairs for the dollshouse yesterday. Most of the time was spent packing for our holiday on Cyprus today. That is also the reason that I'm up and dressed at 04.29 in the morning.
The base is cardboard. I then glued cotton batting to the pieces and sewed the fabric on. It is linen and was the best that I could find in the right colour. Both the green and teh pink-ish colour is very typical for Sweden in the 1930s-40s.

I used balsa wood for the legs and reeds for the curved armrests. I sat with wet reeds wrapped around my figures through two episodes of "Bones" to get the shape right.

I painted the wood

And glued it in place

And they were finished!
