I'm a victim of musical repression! The rest of my family doesn't want me to listen to the music from The Phantom of the Opera (with or without my singing along). And I want to listen to it all the time!!
other news:
It's snowing outside, silent snowing with almost no wind and large snowflakes. It's cold, so it will stay too.
I've cut some more pieces for the inner ceiling for my pavilion. As you who have made tents know, cutting is both hard, because the size of the pieces requires that you do it on the floor, and boring. I'm going to cut some more now and sew them together. I'm doing this little by little, but then it doesn't have to be finished until the end of July.

When you cut the big pieces, do you mark them with a chalk line? And what do you use to cut them? A rotary cutter makes quick work of them. If you don't use a rotary cutter, a freshly sharpened pair of knife-edge scissors, which you use by running them along the cutting line rather than opening and closing them with each few inches of cut (so hard to explain!) is the next best choice.

My recommendation comes from someone who made 3 tents and a day-shade from Summer 2003 to October 2004. Now THAT's a lot of cutting.

Thankfully the inner ceiling is made from thin cotton cambric which is woven very tightly and treated with some kind of carbon-fibre to make it 100% waterproof while still letting air through. It's used in surgery and some type of this fabric is also used where you want fireproof clothing. Anyhow, it is very lightweight so cutting it isn't hard, it's just the crawling on the floor i don't like. The outer tent on the other hand is from cotton canvas and that wasn't fun to cut.

Hehe, and I'm a victim of Hanoi Rockin'!

Me and Tasha saw them last night at Sticky Fingers. :-) Great as always. Conny Bloom (ex-Electric Boys) is their guitarist now.

Got some pics here if you're curious:

Yeah, I knew they were playing, but since we saw them a little over a year ago and I have a baby now I decided not to go. But Inger and I are going to Iron Maiden in July.

I don't know if you've heard the Swedish cast recording. It's generally recognised as one of the top recordings by nearly every fan who'd had a chance to hear it. Aparently the lyrics are also pretty interesting. Someone bluntly says Christine is a little crazy;)

*pouts* I haven't. It cost too much last time I had a chance to buy it. I listened to some of Kristina though which is particularly gorgeous.

Hörlurar kan göra mycket för hemfriden har jag märkt. Det blir extra störande när man börjar sjunga med bara...

Jo, och just den musiken skulle _inte_ göra sig som "freestyle-karaoke". *fniss*

that's so funny. i usually try to avoid any translated casts, as i find the swedish quite annoying... i've heard a few of the highlights, but never the whole swedish cast recording, but i think my mother had it somewhere?
it really was a couple of excellent artists on the cast list!

i grew up with a london version during my high school years. and gladly singing along, to everyones dispair! it is, and always will be, my favorite musical. phantom of the opera and les miserables. my all time favorites ;)
