Pretty corsets. I think I will go for the 1868 corset (http://homepage.mac.com/festive_attyre/victorian/75diary/undies.html#2.1) that jenthompson made. It's a little late, but corsets with a basque were used as early as 1840 and it's so pretty. I will never look like her dress dummy does in the pictures, but hourglass is a good shape for me too. And I don't think you will look the same in an 19th century corset as in other periods corsets. I assume that you have tried 16th and 18th century corsets, but they are designed to make you into a cone, a cone with a very rounded front in the 18th century, but still a cone. This is a totally different shape which curves at all seams. You will look pretty and delicate. About the pink dress: The university library has the museum catalogue so I'm going down there to pick it up now.
