i agree, the late 70s and 80s fashion with extremely tight cuirasse bodices makes it hard to wear your drawers outside the corset without getting too much bulk.
(and i have now more or less decided to go for the period between 1875-80, but still not sure if i want a cuirasse or a polonaise?)
