I know you don't need any advice, but still I thought of you when I read this comment in the Nettles for Textiles thread about other uses for nettles: "Rheumatoid pains have traditionally been treated in Finland by lightly whipping with a nettle bunch in the warm/hot sauna, but only after first lightly whipping with a birch bunch and then applying some fat. There is no accurate translation for the verb vihtoa, so l am using light whipping, as that describes it somewhat correctly. Mostly it is done by oneself, but even if a friend or relative is helping with the whipping, it is not abusive."
Someone else in that thread said that stinging the back of her hand with nettles every morning for the past three months has really helped her hayfever, and reduced her back pain.
Since I don't suffer from any of the above, it is all just intellectually interesting to read...
