Sewing for Maja
May. 11th, 2005 09:21 amOn sunday I started a hand sewn linen shift for Maja which I finished yesterday. After finishing that I cut out a new cotte for her from thin pink wool that she can wear on sunday's picnic (It's the annual picnic at Ragnhildsholmen, a castle ruin from the 13th century I think). I sewed the straight seams on machine and have now felled all except ca 8 cm where the sleeve is attached to the body of the cotte. Today is choir, so I don't know how much time I will have to sew, but hopefully I will finish the felling and the hemming except around the neck. Then I need to make buttonholes at the neck slit, two or three, put trim round the neck and wrists and find some nice buttons. I think she can use one of her linen caps from last year, but it needs new ties. Shoes will have to wait until a later event, probably I won't make any before Kungahälla medeltidsdagar.
