I just came home from the event, it's nearly midnight, we had to leave early because Maja didn't wan to eat the banquet or sit in my lap or anything. So the lovely autocrat, Lady Cis de Conway, drove us to the bus station and we took the bus home. I did have a really nice event though and the dress is finished except for the girdle and another set of guards. I probably should redo the sleeves with some boning in them too, but not now, not for a long time. Anyway, here's a picture. Now I'm off to bed.

I need to take pictures with less harsh light for that, since the portrait has a dark background and soft lighting, but I will do it, even if it means that the flaws will be more visible.
But I didn't setout to make a perfect copy, then I wouldn't have chosen wool, but silk taffeta.
It may take a while, because I'm waiting for the belt to be done. I need to make a partlet that fits better too and I should probably make it from wool cloth too, to match the guards.

You look fabulous! And it sounded like a fun event. I talked with a cousin of mine recently, and he and his girlfriend are members of Nordrike, so I think I will join. And then I can start making 15th century clothes in earnest and probably never emerge from my sewing room again. :-)
