haugtussa about some fine, weave patterned wool she has. In screaming pink. The same pink as on aeddie's "Calvados project". For obvious reasons she doesn't want to use it as it is, but it was very cheap so she bought it anyway. It turned out that since I wanted it she was willing to sell it to me. She thinks it's 4 or 5 metres of it. If it's 4 metres I will make a kirtle, but if it's 5 metres i feel that I will have to do this gardecorps. I know the colour shows up differently on different screens, but fortunately I have a printed version of the book, which hopefully reproduces the colours correctly, and it's a very strong pink. A little darker and more subdued than Ragnhild's wool, but close enough.
You understand that if there is enough fabric I will have to do it, don't you?
I was going to make a dark blue gardecorps lined in white, which seems to be the most common in all manuscripts but the Manesse Codex, where all women's gardecorps and at least one man's are pink. I think the blue would look better on me, but the pink has to be done! If there's enough fabric.
