Going away

I will be away from Monday to Thursday. My girls and I are going to visit my cousin. She breeds horses (welsh) and my girls are going to do some riding and I'm going to rest and socialize.
My original plan was to cut the sleeves for my kirtle and do the machine sewing so that I could work on them while being there, but I've been totally exhausted the last four days and mostly slept after I've come home from work so no sewing. I have a book I need to read for my work so I'll do that instead, but it's not as social as hand sewing. I just hope that I will get better and have some energy when I get back again.

It's from a late 14th c french manuscript and I think it's wonderful. My guess is that the body is made the way Charles de Blois' pourpoint is, probably with some padding over the chest. Then you have those lovely sleeves and note also that the under sleeves also are wide.
