There are too many things happening
Mar. 28th, 2005 04:28 pmIt has been a while, mainly beacause I've had so much LIFE that I haven't had the time to update. The whole easter weekend my friend Sara who lives in Umeå, which is way up north and I only get to see twice a year or so, has been staying with me. It has also,a s usual at easter, been GothCon, Sweden's oldest, best etc. gaming convention. I don't play myself, but so may of my friends do that it's a social event for me too. On top of that my friend Dick and his fiance Marianne/Ulvhild, who live in the extreme south of Sweden, were in town to watch Göteborg Horseshow and since they wanted to meet both me and Sara we all got together on friday. Since it was the last friday in the month it was also Romo night, a club for electronic music, 80s style. Now, this is not my sub-culture but I wasn't going to miss out on a chance to go out with Sara so I joined her, her friend Petra and our common friend Sandra. i didn't stay long and of course I didn't drink, but it was fun to dance to Erasure and to look at people and when I went home at a quarter to one it was just below freezing, but felt mild and the full moon hung in the sky and it just felt good to be out at night.
Due to this whirlwind of entertainment and social demands I haven't sewn much. I'm working on an 1860s flat cap in white linen with a double layer of lace around it (Sara's comment: "it's a doily! You can't have a doily on your head!") and I have also started on a bed-spread for the pavilion. It will be mainly from red fulled wool, with our arms applied, also from fulled wool and yellow fulled wool borders. The underside will be high quality fake fur. It will be wonderful! I have also finished making pillow covers in patterned velvet for three huge pillows that we are going to have in the pavilion too. I guess I should start working on the inner ceiling again, but I'm not really in a hurry. The plan is to finish the bed-spread and then start on my 1850s dress. I'm just not inspired to draft patterns right now.
