So yesterday wasn't the perfect day for a sewing meeting at my place, with Maja having a temperature, but it had been announced so widely that it was no way I could call everybody who planned to come to cancel it. Especially since I didn't know might come. It turned out really well. Maja was a little cranky but after getting her medication which she didn't spit out this time, the temperature went down and she actually walked around a little and didn't stay glued to me constantly. Veronika brought Hedvig who is exactly half a year older and they got along well this time. Which means that none of them cried or took much notice of the other. I didn't sew much, but the cake I had baked was a success and we talked and had fun and I got to meet [livejournal.com profile] armillary's new girlfriend who is a very charming and fun person. And pretty. And they looked so happy together. I like seeing [livejournal.com profile] armillary happy.
I managed to sew the hood for the pink gardecorps and when everybody except Anna had left and Rickard had returned from the parents' meeting at the preschool, I also sewed it to the gardecorps. I manged to get it over my head, but it was really narrow and I need to be able to put it on also when I already have a veil and fillet on so Anna cut a little slit at the neck. I will finish the last on the gardecorps today and if Maja sleeps long in the day I will also update the dress diary for it.
If I can write that much, my wrists aren't happy right now.

Finished

The pink gardecorps is finished except for that I need to find three small brass buttons and get some pink buttonhole silk for the buttonholes. Rickard is working this weekend, but we can take photos on monday when he's free and when the big girls are here and can take care of Maja while we take pictures.

Maja is much better today, I don't think she has a temperature, or at least very little.

In lieu of the hand sewn effigy corset, boned with reeds and made from hand woven linen i have started on a corset with a slightly curved front, inspired by Melissa's experiment with that. It's made from two layers of cotton and one layer of charcoal silk paper taffeta. The boning channels will be done by machine. This is supposed ot be finished this weekend or so. Depending if I can be bothered to bring Maja downtown to get cable ties tomorrow. The only shop I know of that has them is in the basement and almost impossible to get into with a pram. There are escalators, but they are followed by normal stairs and my body isn't up to carrying things. I have sewn 17 of a total 30 lacing holes tonight while watching the three first episodes of Pride and Prejudice for the millionth time together with Anna.
