One almost finished petticoat
Oct. 27th, 2005 01:06 pmI have now gathered and sewn all four flounces on my mid- 19th c. petticoat. Now only the waistband remains. It is all done by machine, even the hems, which makes me feel a little bad, but the cotton fabric I'm using was really cheap and is of a rather low quality so I don't feel like putting so much work into it. I plan to starch it which hopefully will make the cotton nicer too.
Now I just wonder how many more petticoats I need. I can't make them now, I have no money for better cotton fabric, but it's nice to know.
I have som mundane sewing projects that I'd rather work on anyway.
I'm still sick, but Maja is well enough to go to preschool tomorrow so maybe I will get enough rest to actually get better.
