Leaving Maja
Nov. 13th, 2005 03:49 pmTomorrow I'm off to Norway for a couple of days. It will be the first night Maja and I are apart and I hope she will sleep well. It may also be the end of my nursing, though it is possible she will take it up again when I get back on wednesday.
I'm leaving at 6.28 from the station tomorrow. Hooray! I guess I have to get up at 5 or so, so I must at least make a try to get to bed before midnight.
Today we have taken a walk with Maja going to the recycling station and to the shop to get food for this night. Other than that I've been reading some in a new dissertation about the church's acquisition of land in the middle ages in southern Norway, sewing and packing. I have sewn about half of the boning channels for my party version of the effigy corset and I really hate sewing boning channels. It is sooo boring. I think that's why I have made one corset and plan to make another one entirely by hand, it's not as boring to sew boning channels by hand (there might be other opinions about that). I have also cut out the matching skirt from the flowery corduroy. I probably should take advantage of the fact that Maja is asleep and start zig-zagging them. It's very hard to sew on the machine when Maja is awake because she climbs up to the machine and takes the thread or pulls the lever that raiser the presser foot, or wants to play with the pin cushion.
Or I'll just play on the computer.
I don't feel very well, I'm tired and achy, typical signs of an increased rheumatic activity, but maybe it doesn't have to get too bad. I still look forward very much to go to Norway, I will meet![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
haugtussa again and mirazandar for the first time. It will be fun going to a conference with my work mates too. Ulrika, Pia and I all have the same type of life with small kids and almost no occasions to go to parties or to go out, so we will probably be very giggly, dressed up and pretty even if we're just going to go out for a couple of beers with some other historians.
