A new knitting project

I started on a new knitting project yesterday (gee, maybe I'll turn into a real knitter some day). It's blue and white vertically striped leg warmers. Now, I'm not generally fond of leg warmers, remember that I was around first time they were popular and there is absolutely no excuse for legwarmers over boots and jeans in my opinion. So I had decided that leg warmers was one of the things I don't like with the 80s revival. The rest I pretty much like: clear colours, frilly skirts, OTK socks, fishnet tights, sparkly earrings and fingerless gloves and all. And skirts (and trousers) with the waist at the waist!!! But leg warmers not so much. But I slowly got used to the idea of leg warmers and now I think they're OK as long as you wear them in your boots and with skirts so it looks like socks. It's a good way of adding extra warmth without adding extra bulk around your feet, thus making your shoes tight. I guess it's Sock Dreams that has convinced me, especially these look cute, even if she's wearing shoes and not boots with them. ( more on the knitting )
