I finished the Herjolfsnes dress yesterday. I made the neck opening larger than in the original because I wanted to make it more typical for the middle of the 14th century. Anyway, here's a picture, with glasses, without the proper underwear, shoes or headdress. I haven't even brushed my hair yet, but I needed it taken before Rickard went to work.

Not unexpected none of Maja's wool tunics fits her anymore. The renaissance dress and coat may work, but I have my doubts. Since she's extremely un-cooperative with trying things on today I can't know for sure. Maybe I can make new sleeves for the red coat and she can use it this summer too. I really love the way it turned out and it's all hand sewn so it really would be a waste not to use it more. And we don't plan to have more children. But it would probably be easier to make a new one.
The next thing we're going to is a viking market in two weeks. I have just cut a tunic from a diamond twill wool blend (mostly wool) in white and light green for her and will start on it tonight. I hope she can still use her shifts from last year, but will have to try them on some other day. I think I will whip together a viking coat/kaftan for her too, because they're really practical for children. She also needs a new linen cap since the old ones are too small and won't protect her head from the sun.
The linen and wool hose I made last year were too big then and probably fits her this year too and the same goes for the shoes.

Since the green diamond twill is rather itchy and medium thick I decided to make the tunic into a coat/kaftan instead and make a tunic from some softer wool. I'm also lining it with slubby silk in cream that I had at home. It is definitely too slubby, but as lining in child's garment I think it's okay. It will hardly be seen and the coat will be used maybe ten times before she has outgrown it. I don't have a lot of suitable lining fabric at home and I want to use fabric I already have.
