Accomplishments

I have started on the shoes and cut my husbands hair. I've also been to aqua aerobics, finished the swedish summary and started on the translation to english.
The shoes need some hand sewing before I can do the final machine assembling. The edge of the opening in the shoes will be overcast with linen thread and then I will rub them with shoe grease to hide the fact that the thread is white and the leather a warm brown (it's vegetable tanned elk hide).

Stress

One shoe is semi-finished. It needs slits cut for lacing and should have stabilizing stitches along the opening. I haven't tried it on Maja yet, because she's asleep.
The other one is just cut out. Joining together the two edges of the upper will have to be done by hand because I didn't cut any seam allowances. And that takes time, maybe an hour. Sewing it to the sole part is just tricky, not really time-consuming.
But tomorrow I have a crazy schedule. First I must get some work done, then I go directly to Vendela's and Valeria's school for "evaluation talks" and ten I have to catch the train to Trollhättan for a late Beltane celebration. I'm too tired to pack for all this now, so I will have to do that before work.
It will be late before I'm home, but I hope to make the hand sewing on the train and then finish it on machine around midnight on friday or so. Rickard starts work at seven on Saturday, so I will not get much done in the morning before we go to the viking market. Maja doesn't give me much sewing time.
