When I came home from work today I had a parcel waiting for me from the sweet [livejournal.com profile] idahoswede. It was a DVD of Henry VIII and his six wives from 1972. Thank you Carolyn! I haven't seen it yet, since Maja thinks that as soon as the TV is on one should watch the Lion King, but I will soon.
I have, however, watched Anne of the thousand days and I like dit a lot. It felt so modern, in the sense that it felt real, a lot of films from the 60s, like A man for all seasons, feel mostly like filmed theatre. But not this film, you soon forget that it's a movie, they feel like real people to you. And the costumes, while I have some problems with some of the french hoods, are surprisingly good. And it is very touching, I cried a lot at the end. I have now lent it to [livejournal.com profile] armillary.
