an old embroidery project resurfaces

Thanks to armillary who drew a template for the "fretty" pattern I can now start on the redworked smock again. However, I think the piece I started on is too small to be made into a sleeve. So I now have to choose whether to use it for a back yoke; or for something else entirely, like a coif, and start again with the smock, in some other linen. The linen is a little thick for my taste, so that is another reason to start again. And maybe I should try to get hold of silk embroidery thread. Or I could piece the sleeve at the top and use what I have. Anyhow, I have lots of projects I'd rather work on, so it isn't a decision I have to make now. But it's good to know that I can start if I want to.
