I'm back from the Winter Games.
It was lovely, fun and cosy. I had a great time.
The trip back home took a "little" longer than planned. My plane was to leave at 6.45 pm and arrive at 8.25. But there was some technical problems so it didn't leave until 10-30 pm an dI was at Landvetter airport ten past midnight. By then there were no more airport buses (the airport is about 30 km outside Göteborg) but [livejournal.com profile] armillary was a darling and picked me up. For some reason I had trouble falling asleep, despite sleeping too little all weekend, so now I'm totally zonked. I will have a much needed bath and try to sleep a little more. So I won't go to today's seminar.
The upside to the delays is that the effigy corset is now totally finished. As is Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. The downside is that they were finished already 8.30 yesterday, so I had to spend a lot of time reading commercial papers about buying real estate in the Sundsvall area.

And I need to grade tests.

It's me and [livejournal.com profile] bippimalin before leaving for the feast.

I just tried on the finished hand sewn effigy corset. I fit, but it was obvious that it was too long. The splits for tabs started two inches below my natural waist and even if they liked long torsos in the latter 16th century that was too long.
So I took a pair of scissors and cut through the fabric, seams, binding and reeds. Now I need to take away what's left of the chamois binding, secure the boning channels and bind it again.

The shire of Uma, who has the best picture archive in Nordmark, have put up lots of pictures from the Winter games. There's lots of them and they're nice all. If you want to see me especially, I'm on these:

I wore the same on friday night, but with open skirt, no head covering, the doublet opened in the neck and the sleeves and forepart seen on this picture.

From the feast. My sleeves are visible behind my friend Sara, who doesn't have a LiveJournal, but who sometimes comments here anyway.

Erik's photos really show how fun it was.

And Torun and I got to quote the ToyDolls to each other.
