Finding dead web pages?

I know quite a few people have, at different occasions, talked about web pages being archived so that you can find them even after they have been taken down. Is that so and does anyone know where to look?

I just found Locher's on the internet. I love their sweet tops with their seemingly innocent embroidery. Soft, muted colours, flowery embroidery...and then you see the embroidered slogans, like: "I can only please one man a day" :)

But they only have two tops that have a chest measurement of over 100 cm and that's not the ones I like. And even if I'm loosing weight I will never have a chest measurement under 100 cm. :(
