Booring

I have ot work on my lecture on 14th century fashion for Sunday and it's pouring down outside and I feel very bored. The problem with the lecture is of course that I know the subject so well that it is hard to actually start working, since in the back of my head there's a voice saying: "You don't need to do this, you can do this without preparation". But no, I can't, a good lecture demands good preparation even if you know the subject. And since the museum is paying me for it I need to do a very good job.

Another small sewing project

One of my skirts which made me look more slender than I really was when I was fatter now instead makes me look fatter than I am. It still fits, sort of, if I wear it down on the hips instead of at the waist, but it makes me look broad and clumsy. So I think it's time to take it apart and make it narrower, both as a whole and at the hem. As it is now it's sloping outwards from my hips, but I think I will make it go in slightly from my broadest point instead. The good thing is that I probably won't have to take out the zipper, but can do the changes in the side seams and back darts.
I think I will have to pick up the sewing machine today.

Maja's taste in films

Now Maja wants to see "The film were they get their vaccination", i.e Cry Baby. That girl has got excellent taste for a three year old.

ETA: It has the added bonus that it is easier to get her to have her bangs cut when they get too long. Sandy (Grease), Alison and Wanda (Cry Baby) all have "yellow" hair and short bangs, just like Maja.

Getting wet

It's pouring down, as it has the whole day. But I really want my sewing machine. So off I go. It's only maybe a 15 minutes walk to the shop (for healthy people, it may take a little longer with my foot), but you can get very wet in that time. And I have to get back too.
