Just because I always listen to rock when I try to muster some enthusiasm for writing/making lectures.

It is really good, promise!

First I should tell that I have too much garb, despite some being too small or being and despite me selling off quite a lot. That means, apart from storage problems, that there are at least 4 eras/areas I could wear for a whole week and quite a few more I have more than one complete outfit from. This makes it very hard to decide what to bring to the Visby medieval week.
Until like five years ago my principle was to only dress in one time/area for the whole week, but I realized that I found that restricting. Still it is easier to pack (and takes less space) if you limit yourself to two periods, since you can do a lot with accessories.

But I really want three this year:

1. The Uvdal gown is coming along, because I'm giving a lecture on it. I think I will enter it in the A&S competition too, if I manage to make the text on the web page into documentation on paper.

2. Both my family and a lot of people from our group dress in early german 14th century, and it would feel good to match them; especially matching my family. I have so many cottes and surcoats that I will have to choose which to take. The green work cotte from the Maciejowski Bible of corse, but I haven't decided which others.

3. I, Rickard, Valeria and Maja will wear 16th century at least for one court.

The problem is what is to be my everyday/working garb. I want to bring lots of 16th century, but that conflicts with my wish to match my family. And I can't bring everything, the packing space is limited. The sensible thing would be to just bring 16th century for court, but I want to wear this now that it's not too tight anymore (it's actually too loose) and the blue peasant too.

It's hard to have so much good garb.

to my dilemma:
Go to more events.

It seems I won't be able to make it to the Civil War this year, it's on a weekend when Rickard works, and that really is a pity because last year was one of the best events I've been to. But we have our own event, Lady Ragnhild's Collegium, on the 26-28th of September and I suspect/hope that the shire of Gotvik will have their Sigrid's Feast around that time too. Then there's St.Martin's in November, but it's unlikely that I can go and after that I don't know.
