Stuff I bought in London - part three
Jun. 15th, 2009 10:11 pmThe final day Valeria and I went to the Imperial War Museum (and I cried all the time while we were there). In the shop I found this book by Mike Brown, which turned out to be a real treasure:

It is, among others, aimed towards re-eneactors and thus gives you lots of help to make your forties look more authentic. Of course, it deals with british circumstances, which means that people from the US which didn't have the same rationing and didn't suffer from such deprivation and need as the UK and the other war-torn European countries will have to bear that in mind while reading. The same, though to a lesser extent is the case for Sweden. There is also of course some culture specific info.
I am seriously considering buying his book on re-creating the 50s look too.
