Finished!

I decided to take the bike downtown and get bias tape today so that I could finish Maja's dress. And here it is:



It's little big, since it's size six years, but that will change soon enough. The applique are made with the original transfers, which worked despite being 55 years old. Not that I couldn't have been able to make them anyway, but I wanted to try the transfers.

Over productive

Since Maja's dress was finished around 3 pm I started on a new sundress for me. Except for some problems when the pattern that I had drafted which fit perfectly in the toile fabric turned out too small in the dress fabric, it proceeded quickly. I solved the first problem by making the seam allowances narrower; it is still a little tighter than I would have liked it too be, but I can wear it. There is a gathered piece remaining on the bodice and I have to decide if I'm going to make a flounce at the hem or not, but it should be finished tomorrow.
