I want to sew
Apr. 27th, 2010 02:20 pmI am mostly busy knitting these days (apart from working, but I mean craft-wise), but I want to sew something too. I just don't know what. Here's a list of possibilities:
1. A 1930s-1940s inspired dress from a checked viscose that I just bought.
2. A mid-calf navy skirt, sort of 30s-style too, from some polycotton twill that I found during the move.
3. Another housedress or something similar from striped fabric in green and white that I likewise found during the move. My mother has gifted me with ric-rac trim in matching green (the fabric is the same as in this dress, but green).
4. A nice 30s-40s dress from my light blue fabric with white dots (visible on this photo.
5. Jackets. That was my plan for last autumn and I didn't make any. I could at least make one for spring
6. Another peplos from a lovely herringbone wool in green and blue-grey. It's just that I haven't used my new red peplos yet and really don't know when I will.
7. A new 18th century outfit for the 18th century picnic on the 29th of May.
8. The sensible thing: new medieval or renaissance clothing for all the kids, who have grown since 2008 when most of their clothing was made.
I could also mend things, like the lining in my favourite dark grey pencil skirt, but I don't feel like it because I think I am now too fat for it :(
It's likely that I will start with the checked dress, because that's what I want to have most.
