Despite it only being 16 C and overcast I persuaded Rickard and Maja to go on a bike ride to a forest a couple of kilometres away (three? four?) to pick wild strawberries and have a picnic today . Well, Maja didn't really need any prersuasion. I had noticed that there were wild strawberries right at the side of the football fields of "our" team's training ground a week and a half ago and thought that it would be a good idea and pick some. Unfortunately someone else had also noticed, because there weren't many there. It was enough to make Maja happy however.
After picking we continued to a lake where we (and a lot of other people from Gothenburg) go for swimming to have our picnic. Because of the temperature we unwisely hadn't brought any swimsuits, but we had our picnic on the furthest side of a narrow peninsula next to the beach so I swam naked for a while. Since it's deep there and no beach Maja couldn't swim there, but since she's also only eight years old she could swim naked at the beach, and she learned to float and swim on her back.
When we had our picnic I also found a couple of chanterelles, which were fried with butter as a side dish for dinner (which otherwise consisted of meat loaf and cooked potatoes). I was really tired after this and napped for an hour, which probably accounts for me being energetic enough to make waffles around 11 pm.
