I'm in Berlin and have been here for a couple of days, we left Gothenburg by bus on Wednesday morning.
It's the university who has arranged (and pays for) the trip and the days are filled with museums and other educational experiences, This far I have been on guided tours of Neues Museum and the Pergamon museum, a guided walk around Unter den Linden and Friedrichstrasse and visited an archaeological excavation at the old Tempelhof airport.
Because of my arthritis I haven't been able to take part in all the activities and I have missed a guided walk along the wall and visit to the Wall Museum (followed by a visit to a gigantic beer garden in Prenzlauerberg) and today I'm staying at the hotel and thus missing Potsdam and Sansouci; I guess I will have come back to Berlin some other time for that. I'm saving my energy for a guided walk in the Jewish quarters, past the Communist Party's house and some other interesting stuff this evening. Yesterday night was spent at a party organised by the archaeology students at the Freie Universität and while it was really nice to sit on the grass in a garden and drink beer I am rather tired now.
Tomorrow there will be fourteen hours on a bus and then we're home again.
