Slowly recovering and really old friends
Feb. 1st, 2014 12:34 pmIt ges really, really slow to recover from the surgery and one of my wounds refuses to heal, which isn't nice since it's over a month since I got home from hospital. And I want to take a bath dammit!
Yesterday was, however, another step forward, since I went out for veggie food and beers with some friends from 25 years ago. Kirsti Biseth turned 45 and had decided to come down to Gothenburg from Norway to celebrate this with old friends. I knitted this for her. Another friend, Linda Zvamp hade made her a braqcelet with silver boobs and a needle bound nose warmer. There were other presents too of course, but these were the hand made ones.
It's a ctually thanks to Kirsti (and facebbok) that we all started seeing each other regularly again after over twenty years and it is so nice. We still like each other and from a 45-years-old prespective I think taht we're much more interesting people now of course. And who would have known then that I would get a PhD in history, that Patrik would try to get into the PhD programme in archaeology, that Irene would become a translator, Linda a silver smith and artist, Kirsti a professional photographer, Mirian a teacher and tango enthusiast and Mats would become first an alcoholic (Ok, maybe we could have seen that) then an absolutist and born again Christian and work in a metal workshop or Leena a university administrator and technical writer. Not to mention all the kids we have produced.
Anyway, I drank two beers and suddenly it was 11.30 and I got really, really sleepy and went home. It was a really good night.
