Doors in the dolls house
Oct. 16th, 2014 04:50 pmMy first free days for ages (I was at a conference this weekend, which btw was really good) meant that I could do some work on the dolls house and the door between the parents' bedroom and the children's room is now in place.
The doors that I had bought were panelled doors from Skala Minimal, but since my house is in a 1940s-early '50s style I glued paper over the panels, just like they nailed masonite on top of panelled doors back in the days.

The holes for the doors were the right height, but too wide, so I cut pieces of foamboard and glued it to the side of the hole.

Then I put wall paper or painted on the foamboard, but I don't have any separate photo of that.
The door, frame and skirting in the children's room are finished, except that I don't have a handle yet. I need to fine simple, silver coloured ones; all I've seen are gold coloured and ornate.

And the parents' bedroom. Downstairs there will be brown doors, but I haven't managed to get the painting right yet.
