To Ireland tomorrow
Jul. 9th, 2018 10:19 pm Tomorrow Rickard and I, and my best friend Inger and her boyfriend Henri are going to Ireland. Ever since I visited Irealnd with my job in 2011 I've wanted to go back and to bring Rickard. I have planned the trip which will include all the obvious places with pagan associations such as Tara, Newgrange, Emain Macha (Navan fort in Northern Ireland) and the Cave of Cats as well as places of natural beauty and geological interest such as Giant's Causeway and the Cliffs of Moher and pretty castles. I have made all the planning ofg the trip and booked all the hotels/B&Bs where we're staying, Inger booked the flights and the rental car.
I really wanted to go to Dingle, because it was a place that was very important to my sorely missed friend Annaa, but it meant too much driving to be fun, so that will have to be another trip. We will go to her favourite pub in Dublin though: O'Shea's.
The twins will keep Maja company and water the jungle of plants on my balcony.
I have packed most of the stuff I'm bringing, which includes both a swimsuit and wellies and a raincoat. I have also started on a craft project: a rainbow crochet halter top after the same pattern as my previous one, though this one will probably only have long fringes hanging from the band under the bust.
Right now I am listening to the Dubliners and mourning Annaa. That grief will be a part of this trip, but that is as it should be, she was an extraordinary woman and I miss her very much (she died in January 2012).
Last Saturday my friend Alfhild got married at a medieval market, there are some photos both of her and of me over here.
