It's snowing and snowing and it looks absolutely wonderful outside. It's windy though so it's not pleasant to be outside. There's supposed to be a snow storm tonight. I am going to go out and dance with my friends Annika and Inger tonight so I will have to bring my small back pack to put thicker leggings, winter shoes and a wool sweater in. Usually I don't have even a hand bag, but it is likely that the public transport will be affected by the snowing so that we will have to walk home and possibly also there and I don't want to dance in winter boots _or_ walk home in dancing shoes.
I'm wearing my wool m40s now (with a garter belt to keep them up) and they are wonderful. Wool underpants with short legs also helps.

All your posts about Sock Dreams are tempting me to buy my own- esp these wooly thigh-highs! How are they with shipping? Is it timely or does it take forever, and are the costs ok? Have you had to pay Customs duties on any orders yet? (not that Sweeden & the UK have the same duties, but this would give me an idea...)

I had to pay lots of customs with my first order, but apparently not all packages get caught, my sister's didn't. [livejournal.com profile] peronel had her order caught by customs and since she's in the UK you could ask her about her experience too. Because my package got held up by customs it took forever, but I think usually they ship fast.
If you want thinner, more elegant wool stockings, more like wool tights, these are really wool socks that reach to you thighs, I recommend Levantes wool stockings which you can get att SHQ (http://www.stockingshq.com/sheertemptation/index.htm) which is based in the UK. They even work with garter belts with plastic clasps even though it's a little tricky. The M40s needs large metal clasps.

Orders typically take a week to ten days to get here. They ship very promptly and charge around $10 per parcel.

If things get stuck in customs it takes another week or two for them to reach you. The cost of taxes plus handling charge etc worked out at about twelve or thirteen quid, from memory, on my order.

The tax threshold is package value of 18 or over, which works out at around $30. So if your order is under that no probs. Worth putting in the comments section of your order that you want Sock Dreams to mark your package with the cost of the goods not the goods plus postage. They did the second to me, which meant I paid taxes on the shipping, too. Not amused.

Peronel.
